Raven Electrical has been taken over by Stewart Clague Services (SCS) for an undisclosed sum. The deal acknowledges the recent growth in the SCS electrical division and helps provide additional labour resource for both on site electrical engineers and management. The assets of Raven electrical including vehicles and equipment have also been acquired.
Alan Clague director of SCS said "Raven electrical have been trading since 2010 and in that time have developed a very competent team under the management of both Eamonn McConway and Ben Jones. They have electrical contracts for some of the Islands major schemes along with regular domestic works and it will be very much business as usual as the company continues to trade under the Raven brand at least for the immediate future. Eamonn and his team will continue with Raven, albeit as a wholly owned subsidiary of SCS, and there will be an opportunity for further recruitment as the construction sector continues to pick up on the Island. Ben, will eventually be moving to pastures new as he takes up his commercial pilot training course in the States, we wish him well and support him in his new ambition to be a commercial airline pilot".
Next year will mark the 50th anniversary of SCS which started out purely as a plumbing and mechanical installations company. Over the years, keeping up with trends in the industry SCS have developed organically new divisions including total facilities maintenance, air conditioning, building fabric, and electrical services. With the acquisition of Raven electrical, SCS is now the largest employer of both mechanical and electrical skilled engineers on Isle of Man. This will not only help self-delivery capability on installation projects, but also delivery of outsourced Government and Private sector facilities management contracts.
Eamonn McConway, director of Raven concluded by saying "This is a win win for both companies and all the staff involved. We are pleased to be have become a subsidiary of a company with the pedigree of SCS and look forward to the challenge ahead in securing future projects and working with both new and existing customers".
